VISAS
Students from abroad should check if they need a visa by clicking on this link >> Foreign & Commonwealth Office - Visa Questionnaire
Then check the requirements for a student visa by clicking on this link >> UK Visas Students (INF 5)
US nationals apparently do not need a visa just a letter of acceptance. Please check with the local British authorities. Foreign & Commonwealth Office UK Overseas Missions.
The Recording Workshop is on the Department for Education and Skills' Register of Education & Training Providers.
Usually students have to show evidence that they have arranged accommodation, funding to sustain themselves during their stay and evidence that they will be returning home at the end of the period of the visa. (usually 12 months).
One of the requirements of the immigration authorities is that you participate in a full time course. This actually means that you must attend at least 15 hours a week. To be eligible for a student visa you will need to do the TRW Full Time Music Technology & Sound Engineering Course (TRW Music Tech SE.) which lasts 9 months and costs £4000, this is the equivalent of all the TRW courses with extra practice time.
The Recording Workshop will provide you with a letter of acceptance once a deposit of £1130 has been received as required by the immigration authorities. If you use any type of bank transfer facilities make sure you pay all the charges. If you pay by credit card remember there is a 2.5% surcharge. This payment will be held in a special account until confirmation of the acceptance of the visa. The remaining payment will be due by 14 days before the course starts.
We also recommend you take out insurance. Click here: International student insurance including possessions, medical costs

MAKE SURE YOU GIVE YOURSELF ENOUGH TIME FOR THE VISA
APPLICATION TO BE PROCESSED. Make your
accommodation and funding arrangements before you apply for
a place. It is highly recommended that you find out how
long it takes to get a visa from your local British
authorities before you apply for a place and visa. You
risk losing your deposit or even the full amount if you
leave it too late.
London is a very big and
expensive city. Accommodation is not cheap. The cheapest form is
