Founded in
1989 The Recording Workshop is one of the longest
established sound engineering & music technology
schools in the UK. These are practical hands-on courses
where you learn by using the equipment. All the material
is projected on to a 52 inch screen including the
computer programs so that all 5 people can easily follow
what is being demonstrated. The focus is on understanding
rather than learning anything by heart. You are
encouraged to experiment and develop your own styles and
approach to production.
Taught by 2 experienced
and very enthusiastic sound engineering teachers and
musicians with over 28 years combined teaching experience
and 60 years sound engineering experience. The Recording
Workshop has deliberately kept itself small since it
started over 17 years ago. The main emphasis is on
keeping the teaching personal and accessible with the
minimum techno-babble.
Based in West
London since 1989, THE RECORDING WORKSHOP has provided part time & full time
certificated courses on all aspects of Music Technology,
Music Production & Sound Engineering to over 2000
students. The various practical hands-on courses focus on
digital & analogue multi-track recording, digital
editing, MIDI, sequencer techniques, sound synthesis,
microphone techniques including live drums, sampling,
mixing, effects, production, etc.....for beginners and
the more experienced and with a maximum of 5 in each
class.
